Office Syndrome Treatment In Bangkok

Naturally Recover From Irritating Office Syndrome Symptoms And Return To Working Comfortably Again

What is Office Syndrome?

You’ve probably heard that sitting is really bad for your overall health and that there is a mountain of research to back this up but in reality, this topic has a lot of factors and nuances that can make all the difference.

Of course, everyone has heard that standing and stretching often is better for your health, but we sit for long periods because we have to work on our desktop PCs, laptops, phones and tablets, and that’s not going to change anytime soon. It all seems unavoidable because we have to sit and work when we go to the office, and that’s why the term ‘office syndrome’ has become a very popular buzzword these days.

However, office syndrome is not really a disease in itself, but rather a term used to refer to various biomechanical and postural problems that are related to constant sitting.

You might start out sitting in your office chair with good posture but eventually you’ll end up slouching or hunching over and that’s the position you spend most of your time in. Spending too much time in an improper position has all sorts of effects on your shoulders, neck, back and it even affects the tendons in your fingers, elbows and knees.

Instead of passing it off as “just stress” or a “long day at the office”, you should treat your problem before it becomes chronic.

You may think your office syndrome pain was just caused by that one stressful period where you had to work a lot – but really it was caused by years and years of sitting and poor posture that have now caused a series of new issues.

'Form Physio was great! From that first assessment, to dealing with tight muscles, imbalances, bad posture, and bad habits, they teased out and addressed all my problems over time'
Office Syndrome
I came in to the clinic in January with a bad case of repetitive strain injuries in my shoulders, arms, back, wrists, and neck. Basically the result of years of long hours at the computer. I couldn't type for more than 10 minutes at a time without pain - a bit of a problem given the PhD thesis I was supposed to be writing! I had been to physios before and they had never really given me a lasting solution. But thankfully, Form Physio was great! From that first assessment, to dealing with tight muscles, imbalances, bad posture, and bad habits, they teased out and addressed all my problems over time. Mukkie my physio was patient, encouraging, resourceful and overall a great physio. Even when there ups and downs in my recovery process, as with any recovery process, she handled them really well. The place itself was clean, worked exactly on time, and fun (shout out to Boss, Hugo, Ice and Gun, the other physios at the clinic!). 6 months later and most of my pain has disappeared, and I can work more-or-less as normal again (with much better habits). I still have some distance to go to get back to 100%, since these injuries developed over a very long period of time, and I my stint at Bangkok has come to an end. But even here, Mukkie set me up with an exercise routine that I could keep working on once I leave, and gave me the knowledge I need to keep on the path to full recovery. My thanks also to Rikhi on the admin side of things who went above and beyond helping me with my insurance claim and who takes feedback very seriously. Form Physio is a remarkable outfit, and they are always looking for ways to grow and improve. Overall, I cannot recommend them enough! Give them a go!

'I feel so incredibly lucky to have found such professional, knowledgeable and committed physio'
Multiple Injuries |
Office syndrome & Diatasis recti
I have been working with Khun Mint, my physio since arriving in Bangkok - as someone who has suffered from chronic pains/fibromyalgia for as long as I can remember, having worked with many different physios in the UK and Switzerland, I can tell good physios immediately. And with Khun Mint, I have been so impressed with the mastery of knowledge and technique. Every different type of problems I have had (neck, back, hands, arms, posture, post partum/c-section, etc) she has always known exactly what to do, and the results were immediate. I started working with her on a regular basis because I knew I couldn't do it alone, and she has exceeded all expectations. I now have a completely different understanding of how I use my muscles (mostly the wrong ones to compensate weaknesses in other areas), my (mis)alignment, as well as working on strengthening those muscles and it has really helped with my pains - where I am no longer managing my pains but really eliminating the root causes bit by bit. It has been one of the best things I have discovered in Bangkok and I feel so incredibly lucky to have found such professional, knowledgeable and committed physio here- thank you.

'I would definitely recommend Form Physio and Rehab'
Multiple Injuries |
Migraines & Office syndrome
Before my sessions I had a lot of shoulder and neck pain and also regular migraines. Mint has worked hard to reduce the pain and she has also given me exercises to work on at home to help me get stronger. She is extremely patient and supportive - which I really appreciated. After attending physio sessions I also started acupuncture sessions with Fair (with a bit of encouragement as I hate needles!). The acupuncture sessions were so relaxing, I even fell asleep in some of them and so far my migraines have not returned which I am hugely thankful for! I would definitely recommend Form Physio and Rehab - the venue and surroundings are a bonus too!"
