Cupping Therapy in Bangkok

Improve blood circulation and energy balance to improve your quality of life

Blood circulation and your lymphatic system are deeply interconnected with your muscles, joints and tissues so if these systems are unable to function properly, you’ll end up dealing with a host of long-term issues. You might find that your muscles take forever to recover from any kind of exercise or you find yourself going through bouts of lethargy but these could be a symptom of stagnant Qi that is inhibiting your circulatory systems.

An effective way to eliminate stagnant Qi is via Cupping Therapy. Cupping is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in which Cupping Therapy glasses are placed on the skin over acupuncture points and/or muscles. Heat or air is used to create suction between the cup and your skin and is left on your body for a few minutes. This technique puts into practice the old Chinese medical maxim: “Where there’s pain, there is stagnation. Remove the stagnation, and you remove the pain.”

Our TCM practitioners are experienced in diagnosing Qi imbalances and pinpointing the areas that are causing stagnation and blocked Qi. They will lay out a treatment plan that increases your chances of pain relief, promoting improved blood and lymphatic circulation, and rids your body of excess toxic fluids.

Once you get in touch with us, we’ll onboard you with a free consultation at our clinic in Bangkok. We’ll assess whether you are a good candidate for Cupping Therapy and then explain how the treatment process works and answer any of your questions.

Very friendly and professional staff.

General muscle tightness of upper back and lower back
I did physio with physiotherapist Kul, and acupuncture and cupping with TCM Fair. They were both very helpful, patient, and knowledgable. They were both exceptionally caring and always asked if i was ok during treatment. 5-star services from them both. Highly recommended.

Office syndrome & TMJ
I have nothing but the utmost joy and appreciation for having come across Form Physio and the lovely people that are part of it. I've been experiencing upper back pain for the better part of a decade (office syndrome related), and within my first consultation session with Mint, she instantly pointed out that my body balance issues were causing me to overcompensate certain parts of my body. Even before our first full session I was feeling better by making these small (but hugely impactful) adjustments. I see a previous review mentioning Mint and Fair as a dynamic duo - what a perfect description! Mint is an outstanding physiotherapist (I've had previous experience at other clinics and hospitals), and nowhere came close to the attention to detail and professionalism she has. Mint is an absolute killer (pain killer!) of a physiotherapist. Fair brings it home with the acupuncture and cupping treatment that has massively accelerated the treatment time which I am so grateful for. I'm so thankful for having followed her treatment recommendations, her caring nature really shines through and makes the acupuncture experience less daunting. Within 3 months my upper back pain has improved significantly, with a few more months needed for the pain to be pretty much non existent. This place has actually made me realise that physiotherapy and acupuncture is more of a lifestyle, and a quality-of-life upkeep. The management of the clinic is outstanding too, the founders know what they are doing and it shines in the service provided. I've already recommended this clinic to a few friends and they have all now become regulars. Beautiful location in Sukhumvit 49, and always a huge smile when I walk in by P Pare! Thank you to everyone at Form Physio for your care, dedication, and passion for what you do.

Learn more about cupping therapy

Cupping leaves red, circular marks that can look like bruises (but are not usually painful) These are caused by the increased circulation that the cups draw into the layers of the skin, and they usually last for around one week, sometimes a bit longer.

Your TCM therapist will check in with you throughout the treatment to make sure you are comfortable. You can expect about the same amount of pressure/discomfort as you may feel during a therapeutic Medical massage therapy treatment.

It’s better to stay away from warm temperatures 2 hours before and 2 hours after the treatment as it can lead to skin damage and inflammation. You can return to all your other regular activities after the treatment.
